Choose your visits before buying a Krakow city pass. For the new My Kraków Tourist Card, compare the package price with the tickets you would actually buy during its active hours. A long partner list is not proof of a saving. The card does not include trains, and a museum benefit still has to fit that venue's entry rules.
The city's announcement dated 12 October 2026 identifies My Kraków Tourist Card as the new product from Kraków Tourism Alliance. This guide checks that product's issuer pages in October 2026. Older KrakowCard listings and the resident Karta Krakowska are separate products. Do not combine their prices or conditions.
The reviewed 24-hour digital card costs 170 PLN. A like-scope city transport ticket costs 25 PLN. The difference is 145 PLN. Your chosen entries must justify that extra cost. Their full total is not established here, so a net saving is withheld.
What the pass includes
My Kraków Tourist Card combines museum benefits, partner discounts and municipal transport. The issuer's transport FAQ states that its packages cover trams and buses in Zones I, II and III. It names bus routes toward the airport and Wieliczka. It expressly excludes rail and travel to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial.
That distinction matters if you intend to take the airport train. A bus benefit is not a ticket for the rail service. Nor does a bus journey to Wieliczka include the Salt Mine's entry. Read each product and attraction rule in its own context. Do not count an excursion's full cost as included merely because a public bus can reach the town.
The issuer offers digital and physical formats. Its use guide lists a 5 PLN charge for a plastic card in addition to the package. The digital app has no separate app charge. Confirm the package total and chosen format before payment. The physical card cost changes the comparison below.
Validity and activation
The general FAQ describes packages of 24, 48 or 72 hours. You choose the start date and time when buying, and activation is automatic at that selected point. The FAQ says the card is personal and cannot be shared. It also says purchased packages are not refundable and their type or duration cannot be changed.
Plan the active window around visits you can realistically make. A late arrival could leave much of a short package unused if you choose the wrong start. Check the confirmation's start and expiry rather than assuming “one day” means a calendar day. Keep that confirmation available when you use the card. A family's packages must be assessed for each person.
The issuer's entry FAQ says a package must be active when entry is scanned. Each attraction may be visited once per package. Repeat visits therefore do not multiply the benefit. Treat restaurant discounts as a distinct benefit from entry: they may have conditions and exclusions rather than paying for your whole meal.
The 24-hour City Adventurer page lists free entry for several relevant Old Town choices. These include Rynek Underground, Town Hall Tower, the Barbican and MNK Sukiennice. It displays the regular package price as 170 PLN, checked October 2026. That is the named product's price, not a quote for every card sold in Krakow.
For MNK Sukiennice, the issuer says to show the card at the desk and obtain an exhibition ticket after validation. Do not read “free entry” as “walk straight through every entrance”. Venue capacity and closure notices still matter. Check the venue itself for access details. A general pass listing does not settle a current lift problem.
Individual-ticket comparison
Write down only visits you want to make. Check their ordinary admission for your age and any concession you can prove. Remove visits with a free day you can actually use. Keep booking and capacity rules in mind.
Add the transport ticket that would otherwise fit your journey. Do not add a museum simply to make the arithmetic favour the pass.
For transport, the ZTP ticket guide lists a regular 24-hour ticket covering Zones I, II and III at 25 PLN, checked October 2026. This is a comparable scope for the transport part of a 24-hour example. It is not a claim that every visitor needs that ticket. Someone walking throughout could spend nothing on municipal transport.
The comparison is: ordinary tickets you would buy, minus the full card cost. Include the plastic carrier fee if you choose it. Leave meal discounts out unless you know the eligible purchase and would make it anyway. A discount on an unplanned purchase is not the same as cash saved on your existing itinerary.
Worked break-even examples
One adult using transport and museums over 24 hours: the confirmed digital package cost is 170 PLN. The comparable full-zone transport ticket is 25 PLN. Subtracting 25 from 170 leaves 145 PLN that would need to be justified by your actual admission benefits or other eligible savings. The ordinary admission subtotal for your chosen dates is unconfirmed here. A net saving is withheld.
If that visitor uses a plastic card, the cost becomes 175 PLN with the listed 5 PLN carrier fee. The amount left after the same transport allowance is 150 PLN. These figures are thresholds, not museum-ticket totals. Confirm every admission you intend to use before deciding whether it reaches that amount. Do not count both the card's transport and a separate ticket as benefits.
One adult planning only free outdoor walks: paid admissions are zero and planned municipal transport is zero. Buying the 170 PLN digital package would add 170 PLN to that stated plan. It creates no saving for those activities. If the plan changes to include museums or rides, do the comparison again with the actual tickets, rather than carrying over this result.
Who benefits and who may not
The pass is worth investigating for someone with several included visits and useful municipal journeys inside one active window. It may be a poor fit for a slow outdoor visit, a trip dominated by rail or a day spent outside the city. Neither judgement is universal. Your dates, concessions and chosen interiors can change the result.
If you drive into Krakow, the card does not establish parking rights or vehicle access. Use the parking guide to check those decisions separately. Pick your base before assuming that transport coverage will solve every journey. A convenient room can change the number of rides you need.
Purchase checks
- Confirm the issuer and exact product name.
- Choose the package hours and format, then check the full total.
- Verify each intended visit and its redemption or reservation process.
- Compare ordinary tickets for the same visitor and dates.
- Choose the start time carefully and save the confirmation.
- Read the refund and change rules before paying.
Settle your hotel choice and arrival pattern before fixing a short validity window. A changed train or flight can affect when you start using the card. No third-party inventory or live availability was used to claim a saving in this guide.
Sources and checks
Product scope, activation and entry rules come from the linked issuer pages, checked October 2026. The city's dated announcement identifies the newly launched product. ZTP supplies the ordinary transport price. The worked thresholds use those named figures. They do not invent an admission subtotal or promise a cheaper trip.

FAQ
Does the card cover the airport train?
No. The My Kraków Tourist Card issuer excludes railway travel. Its municipal bus coverage is a different benefit.
Can two people share it?
No. The issuer says the package is personal and non-transferable. Work out the cost for each traveller.
Is it always cheaper than separate tickets?
No. Compare the exact tickets you would buy during the package's active hours. Without that subtotal, a saving cannot be established.
Is this the resident Karta Krakowska?
No. The tourist product reviewed here is My Kraków Tourist Card. A resident programme or older tourist product has its own eligibility, terms and price.
